Landfills : Design – Assessment – Decontamination – Restoration INTERGEO has completed a series of site assessments and soil and groundwater decontamination projects in uncontrolled waste disposal sites throughout Europe. Furthermore, INTERGEO group has co-operated with constructing companies by designing entire landfill sites including the appropriate bottom and top lining systems, leachate discharge system, bio-gas recovery system, the associated groundwater monitoring program, and the final restoration of the landfill.   References Site investigation and sanitation of a former municipal landfill   After a site investigation with additional soil and groundwater samples, a former municipal landfill was excavated and sanitized. The area was reused for buildings. Final closing of an industrial dump site (chemical industry)   After executing a site assessment with soil and groundwater investigation and analysis, carbonate-sludge with PVC-parts, PVC-sludge and building debris was detected on the dumpsite.
