The site was a garage for public transport buses with refueling and maintenance facilities. Extensive subsurface contamination was detected, mainly in the vicinity of fuel handling points. The diesel oil contamination was concentrated above the saturated zone.

Soil excavation and in-situ bioremediation with bioaugmentation, groundwater pumping and skimming.

Contaminant concentration before treatment:
Excavated soil ranged from 10,000 ppm to 25,000 ppm,
in-situ treated diesel and lubrication oil contamination in soil 1000-15000 ppm
in groundwater free phase in film, dissolved contamination 1-5 mg/l.
Contaminant concentration after treatment: less than cleanup goal.
